In one of my previous posts I told you about my gorgeous dog Max who was seriously ill. Sadly, we lost him a few days later. It was one of the most traumatic things we have ever gone through and we have gone through some pretty traumatic things in our lives! The void he left within the family was huge and there was a massive gaping hole where he used to be.

Nothing will obviously ever replace Max, who we just totally adored.

But now we have decided to add to our doggy family and bring home new babies. We went to have a look at a litter of Cocker Spaniel puppies. There were 8 of them and they were all completely divine - it would have been so simple to just bring all 8 of them home but sometimes you have to be a little bit sensible!

So there was this totally gorgeous little boy
In this picture he is only 5 weeks old! He is a real rough and tumble, typical little boy, full of mischief and just wanting to play all the time!! But then there was this absolutely adorable little girl -
who is just so beautiful and so delicate and loves lots of cuddles.

Was it possible to choose between the two of them? Did the head overrule the heart? Did being sensible and practical ever come into the equation? Absolutely not!!! Our new little boy and girl are coming home in two weeks time and we are just so totally over the moon and in love with them already!

I'm sure in a few weeks my house will be smelling somewhat similar to a menagerie and my kitchen cupboards will be chewed to bits, I will have been through hundreds of mops and the kitchen floor will have suffered great trauma, by the way, any offers of newspaper donations will be greatly appreciated!

If you love animals, you will always have the love inside you to give to as many as you possibly can in your lifetime.

We all know that our pets don't have as long a lifespan as we do, so we let them choose us, then we love them to pieces and give them the happiest life possible and then we let them go peacefully to heaven, our hearts break into a million pieces and out of that sorrow comes a new beginning for more puppies who need to be loved.

Losing a pet is like losing your best friend. May Max find peace at the happy Hunting Grounds and may your two new buddies bring you nothing but happiness.
